Since 2018, I've been regularly sharing content of my adventures on the planet, experiences immersed in different cultures, sustainability tips, and of course, my favorite form of travel: long-distance hiking.
Protecting the environment of the Earth and gaining a deeper understanding of it have become intertwined in both my profession and my hobby.
With a background in sustainable communication, I have been researching the rhetoric of planetary health in an academic setting since September 2021 as a PhD student.
In addition to my teaching and research duties, I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with real people, organizations, and brands who work tirelessly towards a more sustainable Earth. They serve as daily inspiration as we strive towards a common goal.
In 2021, I was awarded a state scholarship and a doctoral scholarship to join the Corvinus Doctoral Program. Consequently, I am fully engaged in my PhD studies, research, and teaching. I participate in various projects in the fields of sustainability and planetary health communication. Currently, I am in the second phase of the doctoral program, having completed my comprehensive exam, and I am expected to finalize my doctoral dissertation by August 2025. Currently, I am conducting research at the University of Iceland related to my dissertation.
Sweden is renowned for its sustainability efforts, which is why I pursued this unique master's program focusing on sustainability communication there. My research topic which later evolved into my doctoral research as well: nonviolent environmental communication. This approach advocates that through non-threatening, nonviolent communication, we are more likely to achieve environmentally friendly behavioral changes. Of course, this approach requires further research and practical application. The million-dollar question is, how do we implement this in real life?
I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to study at some of the top universities in Europe multiple times. In 2016, I spent a semester at the University of Helsinki on an Erasmus scholarship, where I studied mass communication and media. In 2019, I attended Sciences Po Paris, often referred to as the "Harvard of France," where I studied communication science, media, and the creative sector in both English and French. In February 2022, I studied at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on the Anthropocene era and its ecological and societal challenges. From January 2024, I am studying at the University of Iceland for one semester.
The majority of my years in higher education were conducted in English, both in Hungary and abroad, allowing me the opportunity to master the academic language of communication science and sustainability. I obtained an advanced-level language exam in French towards the end of my high school years, and although I do not use French on a daily basis, I am comfortable speaking it at a conversational level. During my master's studies in Sweden, I acquired an intermediate level of proficiency in Swedish, and recently, thanks to love, I have been learning Dutch every day.
Although not conventional work experience, serving as the president of Students for Sustainable Action, a sustainability student organization in Sweden, was one of the most defining professional experiences for me. I learned a great deal about revitalizing an environmental organization and, alongside the wonderful leadership team, we established a superb system and completely revamped the brand to engage as many students as possible in sustainability and environmental activities on campus.
