At the 2023 Active Hungary Conference, I gave a presentation titled “Every Step – Long-Distance Hiking for Nature Conservation,” where I shared my experiences from five long-distance hikes over the past five years and their impact on my relationship with nature. Every step brought me closer to integrating nature conservation into both my professional and personal life, and while the connection may not seem directly proportional at first glance, the time spent in the wilderness has brought about the most significant changes in real life as well.
